Defending the Channels

A Channel is a straight line of spaces that runs parrallel to the touch lines. The fastest way for an opponent to get to your tryline is to run straight or in a channel.

You can effectively defend these channels by placing 2 defenders directly behind each other along a channel, this way no matter what Pressure Play cards he has he must move around you as he is not permitted to move over more then 2 players in a row!

Adopting this tactic 2 channels in from the touch line forces the attacker to either run the touchline and risk being forced out, or cut back inside where your defense is likely to be more concetrated.
